1. Scope

This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on:

  • edenex.com — our website, in each of its language versions; and
  • app.edenex.com — the Edenex application, available to registered users.

We refer to these together as the Platform.

The Platform is operated by EDENEX - FZCO, a free zone company holding trade licence 27573 issued by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, with its registered office at Premises No. DSO-IFZA, IFZA Properties, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Edenex", "we", "us").

This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data generally.

This policy is published in English only. Any translation is provided for convenience, and the English text prevails.

2. What this policy covers

A cookie is a small file that a website places on your device and reads back on later visits.

Websites can also store information on your device in other ways, principally through your browser's local and session storage. The rule that governs consent is expressed in terms of storing information on, or accessing information stored in, your device — not in terms of cookies specifically. We therefore apply the same standard to all of these technologies: if something is placed on your device or read from it, it is disclosed in this policy, and we obtain your consent unless it is strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for.

3. Your choices

A consent banner appears when you first visit the website. It offers three options with equal prominence:

  • Accept all — analytics is enabled.
  • Reject all — analytics stays off.
  • Manage preferences — analytics can be enabled or disabled.

Analytics is not loaded before you consent. Rejecting is as straightforward as accepting, and consent is never a condition of using the Platform. We do not load advertising, conversion or Cloudflare measurement tags.

You may change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Withdrawal takes effect immediately, and the analytics identifiers already on your device are deleted rather than merely ignored. It does not undo processing already carried out; to ask about data already collected, write to [email protected].

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection of analytics and do not raise the banner. Nothing optional is loaded. You can still open Cookie preferences from the footer if you want to enable it.

Your browser settings also allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.

These deliver the Platform and keep it secure and cannot be switched off.

WhatWhere it is storedPurposeDuration
Language preference (lang)Cookie · Secure · SameSite=LaxKeeps the site in the language you selected instead of returning you to English on each visit180 days
Consent preferencesLocal storageRecords the cookie choices you made, so that you are not asked again on every visit and so that we can evidence your choice12 months
Sign-in sessionLocal storageKeeps you signed in and preserves your progress through registration, password reset and two-factor authentication, so that reloading a page does not sign you out or restart a stepUntil you sign out

The website is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. Your request, including your IP address, passes through its network so that the page can be served and hostile traffic filtered. We do not use Cloudflare to count visits or to profile you. On a normal visit it sets no cookie of its own. A security challenge may set a short-lived cookie so the site can tell a person from automated traffic.

While a tab is open, the application also holds short-lived technical values in your browser's session storage — for example your position on a page, and a marker that allows the interface to reload cleanly when a new version is released while you are using it. These contain no identifier for you, are not transmitted to us, and are discarded when the tab is closed.

Your interface preferences — display currency, list or grid view, and unsent drafts — are likewise kept on your device only. They are never sent to us and are not used to track you.

5. Analytics

Requires your consent. These operate on the website only; the application carries no analytics.

ProviderPurposeData involvedWhere processed
Google Analytics 4 — Google Ireland Limited, with Google LLC as sub-processorMeasures visits, pages viewed, referral sources and aggregate journeys through the siteOnline identifiers, IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, interaction eventsEuropean Union and United States

Analytics is delivered through Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited), a container that loads it on the website. The container itself is not strictly necessary, so it does not load before you consent, and rejecting analytics prevents the tag from being delivered.

We enable IP anonymisation in Google Analytics and limit the retention of event-level data to 14 months.

We do not record your session. We use no screen-recording, session-replay or keystroke-capture technology anywhere on the Platform, and we do not build heat maps of your behaviour.

6. Map services in the application

The application draws on two external services to display shipment routes. They are not analytics and do not profile you, but your browser connects to them directly, so they necessarily receive your IP address.

ProviderPurposeWhat it receives
MapTiler AG, SwitzerlandSupplies map imageryIP address, and the map area displayed
Geoapify GmbH, GermanyConverts an address into map coordinatesIP address, and the address or place being located

Both are strictly necessary to render a feature you have opened. Switzerland and Germany each provide an adequate level of data protection under European law.

7. International transfers

Google Analytics involves transfers to Google LLC in the United States. Delivery of the website involves transfers to Cloudflare, Inc. in the United States. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection. The remaining providers named above operate within the European Economic Area or in Switzerland, which benefits from an adequacy decision.

International transfers are addressed more fully in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party terms

Each provider named above processes data under its own terms as well as under our instructions. We recommend reviewing the privacy documentation published by Google, Cloudflare, MapTiler and Geoapify.

9. Changes

We update this policy whenever a technology is added, removed or changed, and the last-updated date changes with it.

Where a change introduces a new non-essential technology, we ask for your consent before it loads. We do not rely on consent given for a different purpose.
